Wee Celt - An Introduction to Fair Isle

Join us for a 2 part class at Starstruck Cat Studio.

Saturday, April 8th will be an introduction to Fair Isle knitting in a bite-sized project- a child's cardigan.  We'll be using Claddagh, and you'll need two skeins of your main color and one of a counter color (be sure to pick something that contrasts).  We'll be bringing red/pink and yellow mini-skeins for your sweater as part of your class supplies.

The pattern is only available through this workshop, and will be available for purchase after the class has finished for knitters not participating in the class.

Flower Workshop - Small Project, Big Technique

Join us at Starstruck Cat Studio for a quick little project that will add a few new techniques to your knitting resume. We'll be making a flower pin (Mother's Day craft anyone?) and learning to drop in beads with a crochet hook, and a fun way to twist your knitting to add some very easy texture.

We'll be using the new Flowers of Ferdinand pattern for this class, your class fee includes all yarn and beads you'll need for this pattern.  The pattern will be available for download after this workshop has finished. You'll need to bring some size 2-3 needles (straight or circular, doesn't matter) and crochet hooks for beading will be available to borrow or purchase.

Wee Celt - A Steeking Workshop

Join us for Part 2 of the Wee Celt sweater, Steeking!

This is an advanced technique that involves planning, reinforcing, CUTTING, and finishing your knitting! That's right- cutting.  We'll be learning on your newly finished Wee Celt sweater (or bring a cheap wool sweater from Goodwill if you are too nervous to make the cut) and turning a pullover into a cardigan. You'll love this liberating technique- it's quite a rush!
